Planning Traefik rate limits

Rate limits and login controls solve different problems. Set a request budget from expected traffic and test bursts without treating a rate limit as proof of authentication.

Consult the rate-limit documentation for your installed Traefik version. Test client identification behind proxies, shared networks and legitimate burst traffic before enforcing a rule. A rate limiter alone is not a full WAF.
